19 thg 8, 2022 · Way back when, a McDonald's meal cost about $5 when a much tastier Chinese lunch cost only $2. For example, I could fill my stomach with great dumplings for $2. My young self couldn't understand why McDonald's could thrive in Taiwan. (I especially couldn't understand Domino's pizza being in Taiwan. So, what do I know?)

But the thief must have operated in the full knowledge of many people on the bus. When travelling in China, I stay in dormitories to keep the cost down. I take my valuables with me everywhere.
20 thg 12, 2017 · A couple of times when we were too tired to go out, I just ordered food for us cheaply (Korean for the adults, McDonald's for the kids). The deliverymen are very hardworking and they came knocking on our hotel doors.

26 thg 11, 2008 · I read an interesting book on mcdonald's in China and south east Asia recently. It was an anthropological/cultural study of how different people react to the pervasive golden arches, and what that can show us by way of reflection about different cultures.
18 thg 12, 2017 · I like the freshly-made coffee at McDonald's 麦当劳 and KFC 肯德基 here. Pretty sure it's better than basic 'fast food chain' coffee available back in the US.
10 thg 8, 2006 · A McDonald's is also one block further south. I haven't been back to the South Gate since I came back to Beijing, but there used to be many restaurants over there as well. I think that has all been cleared away tho. Anyway, zixingche is right in saying that there is a kitchen on each floor, but I'm not sure about refrigerators in the new buildings.

2 thg 6, 2013 · They don't go to McDonalds for the food. It's fashion. Often driven by McDonald's targeting their advertising at kids. McD's and KFC are crammed full of children at weekends. This Saturday was Children's Day - celebrated in the ancient Chinese way - take your brat to KFC or McD's.The kids don't want to go for the food either. It's the toys!
17 thg 8, 2008 · And yes, there are plenty of McDonald's and KFC's all over China, so that would not be a problem. The big cities also have plenty of Western restaurants. PS: Give Xinjiang food a try, it is also pasta with meat and sauce; I think you would like it!
